After 4 years of catching fire, melting, being ripped open, and getting soaked in oil, and coated n photo developer I figured I deserved some new shoes.

Does this not feel like your going from a 4 year old chevy malibu to a new chevy malibu ? for some reason this feels like buying the same car you just had .

I had a stretch where I bought the same exact pair of shoes for the better part of 5 years, one pair a year

It was great. Even now, I have basically the same shoes just a slightly different style. I can't find any shoes I like better.

Haha, which version of his guitar? I have a friend that is real big into guitars, and learned a bit about that guitar by diffusion. Kind of a Frankenstein changing through the years. Neat though, and I like that you have separate garage shoes. A lot of people might suggest steel toes for garage shoes though.

Alright well I kinda understand now .. I mean I've bought the same pair of solid black vans at least 3 times now . They are so practical I can't help myself ..

Exactly. Mine were Sperry Striper slip-ons. I actually did a pair of black vans last year, switched back to Sperry a few months ago.

Down here in Texas .. Sperrys mean sweaty nasty feet .. I wore mine yesterday and they are still in my car decontaminating ..

I don't understand why everyone feels a need to wear them sockless. The Striper's weren't the boat shoe style, so they were perfectly reasonable to wear with socks. The ones I have now are boat shoe style, but when worn with pants I see no reason to not wear socks.

What part of Texas are you in?

I still find bare foot to be the most effective for hard heel toe'ing .. and I havent double clutched since highschool in my JDM Tuner days.. then I drove a RWD car lol

I was aiming for 1984 era. Closed toe is probably as it is going to get. Most of the time I work barefoot. I keep tweezers in the shop to pull stuff out of my foot.
